If you want to try a very delicious fish dish, here’s our pike perch ragout recipe. It’s very tasty and easy to do. To prepare it, you just need fillet of pike perch and some other fresh ingredients.

The specialists from American Heart Association discovered that pike perch is a great source of proteins (200 g pike perch contain 40 g proteins). Moreover, this fish has a low content of saturated fats so it is very good for our health. Pike perch also has benefits in accelerating the metabolism and in helping the body recover after training.

As all fish contain mercury, this might be a problem for our health, but the good news is that pike perch, in comparison with other fish such as mackerel or swordfish, has a lower mercury level.

When you fry the pike perch in oil, the fish becomes a “caloric bomb” so it is not healthy for the body anymore. That is why it is recommended to cook the pike perch on the grill, steam grill or in the oven: cooked like this it is also tasty, and healthy.  

Pike perch ragout – what ingredients do you need?

It would be better to buy fresh pike perch from a reliable fishery, but if you don’t have this option you could buy frozen fish too.

Ingredients

2-3 pike perch fillets
3 tomatoes
salt, pepper
2-3 garlic cloves
1 bunch of parsley
olive oil

Directions

1). Wash the pike perch fillets, add salt and peper.

2). Put on the grill and leave it till they are golden brown.

3). When they are ready, put them aside, on a plate.

4). In the meantime, prepare the ragout: in a pan, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 3 peeled and finely chopped tomatoes.

5). Leave the tomatoes until they are tender and then add 2-3 garlic cloves, chopped and crushed. Leave all to boil a little for 5-7 minutes, and afterwards turn off the heat and add immediately the finely chopped parsley.

6). Add this sauce over the fish fillets and serve with gluten free polenta. You can find here the recipe of gluten free polenta.
