10 quick, simple and healthy snacks

We all want quick, healthy and simple snacks. There is not so much time for complex foods, so we are always looking for clever snacks, easy to do and that could be easily taken at the office.

Simple, clever recipes ideas are among the healthiest and tastiest

For the next snacks recipes you don’t need a lot of foods, as the key here is the combination. Often times, the culinary associations we wouldn’t have thought of give the tastiest recipes so push your boundaries a little and dare to try something new.

Quick, tasty, but also healthy… with gluten, dairy, sugar free ingredients

Besides simplicity, taste or speed, very important are the freshness and type of the chosen foods. All these 10 snacks do not contain gluten, sugar, dairy or soy. It’s true, for some of them you will need cashew/almond cheese and gluten free bread.

For this, I advise you to do a little research before and to see what bakeries in your area offer this kind of products too. Try not to choose the supermarket “gluten free options” as they might contain a lot of soy, additives and such substances. Always read the label!

You can see the photos for each snack in the photo gallery above.

1). Rainbow salad

I entitled it like this because this salad is so fresh and colourful and yet it requires only three main ingredients. It is simple, perfect for breakfast or in the afternoon when you want something refreshing, to keep you full 2-3 more hours.

To prepare it, just grate 1 carrot, 1-2 cm ginger root and finely chop ½ bunch of fresh parsley. Optional, you can also add 1 teaspoon of olive oil and lemon juice. Mix well and serve with walnuts, almonds or a few piece of cashew cheese.

2). Cashew cheese and vegetables snack

I prepared this snack with what foods I found in the house: ½ cashew cheese (this variety was with “Italian herbs”), 1 tomato, ½ yellow bell pepper and some slices of buckwheat, gluten free bread. It came out a delicious snack!

3). Sardine snack

The other day I had a lot of work, so little time to cook, so I bought a sardine can in tomato sauce and some piece of almond gluten free bread. I “combined” them and it came out a very good snack or even dish, as I ate it for dinner.

4). Baked apples, with honey and hazelnuts

For sweet snacks, you just need to wash 4 apples, to peel them and to cut those “hard ends” (if you have that special device, you could take out the hard core entirely). Put them in a tray lined with baking paper. Add on top a little bit of honey and put in the oven. After 5 minutes, also add the hazelnuts, previously taken in honey too.

5). Almond cheese salad

My favourite vegan cheese is almond cheese. It tastes like a true ricotta. Whenever I buy it I mix it with tomatoes and bell peppers.

6). Egg and vegetables salad

A snack that can easily be also your breakfast: you just need 2 hard-boiled eggs, 1 grated carrot and parsley, finely chopped. The result, visual but also the taste, is amazing.

7). Tomato food with vegan cream cheese

Just wash and peel 2-3 tomatoes, finely chop, cook in a little bit of olive oil and add some slices of bell pepper. Leave a little bit on the heat and then enjoy with vegan cream cheese (cashew cheese in my case). I also had some peanuts doodles with them. Delicious!

8). Tomato bruschetta

If you have gluten free bread, you also come out with great snack ideas. For these bruschetta, I cooked 1-2 tomatoes (washed, peeled and finely chopped) in a little bit of olive oil, I roasted 1-2 slices of bread, I greased them with 1-2 garlic, finely chopped and added on them the tomato sauce.

9). Crackers with cashew cheese and tomatoes

You can find this type of gluten free crackers online or at the bio stores. Add on them 1-2 thin slices of cashew cheese, a tomato slice above and here you go, you have the perfect snack.

10). Snack with vegan cheese and grated carrot

Another form of “salad”, but in a different interpretation, I enjoyed this salad by adding together the cheese, grated carrot, a tomato and some slices of yellow bell pepper.

It’s easy to eat simple, tasty and healthy. All you need are the right ingredients and the inspiration to combine them in a delicious way. Because you now have not 1, but 10 ideas of healthy, easy and tasty snacks, maybe it would be the perfect time to try having that healthy lifestyle you have long thinking for.
